We are returning to the Tugboat, this time to open for friends Phantom Tollbooth on 26th September. This is the band of Jaap Badlands, the genius behind our website and album design. He also created the awesome new website loudthought.co.nz (which you will be hearing a lot more about soon). Come down and see him hit stuff (you might like to see him drum too). And see us play support along with The Botanics.
Once again we’ll be playing downstairs in the Engine Room of the Tugboat on the Bay. It was awesome last time and we look forward to playing there again. You should check out Phantom Tollbooth and The Botanics too. It’s Phantom Tollbooth’s second gig and they are about to be on a roll I tell ya. Maybe they are already on a roll – can you be on a roll after one great show? Worth it either way.
It is 6 months to the day since we started recording Hour Of The Wolf.
On January 26th, after spending the previous day setting up, we started laying down tracks for guitar, bass and drums.
While that initial spell of recording only took us a week and a half, there have been many subsequent recording sessions since. Vocals, choir, strings and more. Not to mention a bucket load of mixing, analysing, re-mixing, rinse and repeat.
Finally, in less than 3 weeks, the album will be ready to share with you. Come down to the release show at the Tugboat in Wellington on August 15th to be among the first to receive a copy of Hour Of The Wolf.
Here is the track-listing we have chosen for the album:
Mute Signals
Cheshire Cat
Unsettled Scenes
Following The Blind
Veils
Flip Side Thumb
Hour Of The Wolf
Tunnel Vision
We can’t wait to give this to you at the gig and we look forward to hearing what you think.
On August 15th venture below the water-line to the Engine Room of The Tugboat on The Bay and join us in celebrating our release of our first full-length album Hour Of The Wolf.
You will be given a copy of the album on CD at the door, making you the first to receive it in any form.
The show will begin with local singer/songwriter Louis Baker followed by a special duet between Matthew “Pixie” Pickering and Hollie of Tiny Ruins.
We will then play a set consisting of songs from the new album as well as some material so new it has never been heard live before.
The Show:
Louis Baker
Pix & Hollie
RIVERBLIND
MC and after party DJ: Captain D.S. Beck
Entry fee is $15 – receive your CD as you pay at the door.
Doors open at 8pm on Saturday night, 15th of August.
